Emerging Professional Grant

Grant Information

  1. This grant is for current GMTA members in the music teaching profession fewer than five (5) years. Only applicants who hold “active” membership (not collegiate, senior, or other types of membership) may apply.

  2. The applicant must submit a 500-hundred word proposal by December 1st at 11:59 PM for studio or professional development.

  3. The GMTA Executive Board will review applications.

  4. ONE grant recipient will be notified by December 15.

Professional Development Grant

Grant Information

  1. This grant is for current GMTA members in the teaching profession more than five (5) years. Only applicants who hold “active” membership (not collegiate, senior, or other types of membership) may apply.

  2. Previous winners of this grant must wait a minimum of five (5) years before they are eligible to win the grant a second time.

  3. The applicant must submit a 500-hundred word proposal by December 1st at 11:59 PM for studio or professional development.

  4. The GMTA Executive Board will review applications.

  5. One (1) grant recipient will be notified by December 15.

SCMTA Conference Fee Waivers

Grant Information

  1. If members have never attended an SCMTA Conference, GMTA will reimburse teachers for up to $75 of the conference registration fee. Only applicants who hold “active” membership (not collegiate, senior, or other types of membership) may apply.

  2. This is available to both new members and to existing members who have never attended an SCMTA conference.

  3. Teachers who have previously registered for and/or attended an SCMTA conference are not eligible to apply for this grant.

  4. The applicant must submit proof of registration and a payment receipt for the SCMTA conference by October 31 at 11:59 PM.
